Overview

The BD Medical Delivery Solutions team focus on transforming medication preparation and administration to enhance patient and clinical outcomes. They work closely with hospitals and healthcare systems to help eliminate complications, reduce cost, and enable access to better care.

The Brief

The MDS team were looking for a series of e-learning modules to support their internal teams with their extensive range of infusion products. Made up of 10 modules in total, “Infusion Academy” needed to take the product information provided and transform it into an interactive, engaging e-learning experience.

It's all in the details

Once we’d received the information from the team at BD, we arranged the creation of a high-level scope — with the sheer amount of content that needed shaping, this pre-planning stage would prove crucial for ensuring each module was intuitive and well-structured.

With the structure nailed down, it was time to hand over to our design experts!

The solution

To make the review process as streamlined as possible, our designers worked the content into a PowerPoint to communicate the intended look and feel. After a few tweaks, the module was then built in Storyline – a platform specifically chosen for its ability to produce immersive, customised e-learning courses.

As well as bringing their creative expertise to the eye-catching theming, our Design team showcased their UX skills by building in click-throughs, knowledge checks, and a host of additional functionality to boost the overall interactivity.

Our teams worked in close collaboration as the build progressed, using the Review 360 feature to share comments and feedback. Once the first module was complete, we provided the content in two formats: an exported SCORM file for BD to upload into their own e-learning platform, and a standard PowerPoint.

Result

Our methodical and collaborative approach resulted in a well-designed, attention-capturing first module that’s easy to work through and understand — and a clearly defined process for the remaining nine modules!

The first module has been so well received that we’re currently discussing ways in which this could be repurposed for similar e-learning projects.
