MARQUES - The 32nd Annual Conference

MARQUES is a long-standing client who holds an annual event for around 800 trademark lawyers, showcasing and presenting new and upcoming trends over four days. The Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel & Conference Center was the chosen venue.

The Brief

Each year, we strive to produce an effective, fresh and impactful design and theming that keeps the event prestigious and popular with the audience.

It's all in the details

Working collaboratively with the client and specialist subcontractors, we supported all technical site visits, reviewed the available spaces and produced initial ideas for set, stage, AV and branding options.

The concepts included floor plans, illustrations, visuals, and an initial budget. These were all reviewed in the conference year and followed up with any necessary site visits to finalise and agree on the project delivery plans.

As the project progressed, we worked with the client to amend plans, budgets as required and coordinate all supplier and sub-contractors.

The solution

We produced a 31m set with three LED screens built into the panels as well as silhouettes of iconic Parisian structures across the full set for the conference. This included an offsite ‘Cultural Evening’ at the unique Pavillons de Bercy, which we branded to support their evening sponsor. The Gala Dinner was held in the same conference room, with a two-hour turnaround.


A crew of over 20, two days of rigging and rehearsals, a number of breakout and workshops, exhibition and offsite networking events resulted in a successful week onsite with a happy team and more importantly a very contented client.
