Overview

EDF Energy is building two new nuclear reactors at Hinkley Point C in Somerset, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low-carbon electricity for around six million homes.

As part of their commitment and delivery, EDF Energy is putting local benefits at the heart of Hinkley Point C and aims to deliver many long-term benefits to stimulate Somerset and the South West.

This is reflected by the creation of over 25,000 new employment opportunities, the provision of huge opportunities for local, national and international business and the visibility of lasting benefits to communities throughout the South West.

The Brief

Our challenge was to provide an engaging and informative brochure targeted toward key HPC stakeholders and decision makers, including Government officials, MPs, industry leaders and influencers. The literature needed to report and inform the readers on the variety and progress of the projects and benefits created.

It's all in the details

The main challenge was to work with the client to refine the wealth of information, provided by the network of sources, into manageable content which could work within an 80-page brochure.

The solution

We created a series of styles and identities for each type of section; for example overviews, timelines, case studies, quotes, etc. The content was then refined into digestible, proofread copy and supported with engaging imagery to help bring the detail to life.

Result

A brochure designed within brand guidelines setting a style precedent for this type of brochure moving forwards.
